This is one of the most unique places we've visited. You will be hard pressed to find a better night out. Our server Grace gave us an incredible tour and history of the property. We went with a group of four, there wasn't a bad bite of food to be had. The glass bar is an incredible place to lounge, or for something really incredible check into the chef's table in the basement. Do not miss out on this place.
The ambiance is amazing! Attended a conference so got to try a few different drinks and the Roderick is my favorite! Gluten free chocolate chip cookies shouldn't taste as good as theirs! Highly recommend.
The atmosphere here is amazing as are the food and drinks. I would encourage you to check out the bar out back. It's so beautiful. Also check out the music room for dinner or brunch. We also considered this as a wedding venue. Their events coordinator is unbelievable. He is so helpful and cheerful and works overtime to make sure you are comfortable. His experience put us at ease and his responsiveness and professionalism were encouraging. I'd recommend homestead for any of these services and for just being a pretty place.
We had a charity event at this venue. I was in charge of decor for the outside of the manor and some of the inside. I did not work with the venue coordinator but it seemed a bit restrictive. It was extremely frustrating (and stressful) to not be able to decorate inside the manor (which is used as a coffee shop) until 4 hours prior to the event (25 minutes from my house) and be back in time.
However, that being said, it's a stunning event space. There are 2 entrances. I'm not sure how well it worked with valet yet to be able to funnel everyone through the manor first but I assume okay.
We used the manor as the event entrance to display info about the organization and check everyone in to give them their table assignment and other event administrative information. They walked through the manor, out through the back coutyard and down the gravel drive to the barn where we had the silent auction and cocktail hour. The dinner was on the lawn behind the barn. We had 300-400 guests.
On a side note, we had a coffee bar set up (through their onsite coffee house), and the coffee was delicious! I was very impressed!
Wedding Venue ... beautiful, but beware. Our daughter's wedding was last weekend. It was beautiful. Pro's: The barn is beautiful, the manor has a historical charm. There are beautiful old trees.
Cons:
They only provide 150 chairs that are included in your rental. If you have more guests and you want them to have a seat be prepared to make your own arrangements to call Southern Events (for 65 chairs it added an additional $400+ )
If you are having the wedding outside, using the folding 150 chairs they provide, be prepared to set up ALL the tables (28 -8ft tables, 180 chairs) before the wedding and after your event put them ALL back exactly in the shed outside of the barn. This was not disclosed until after the contract was signed and it is not mentioned in the contract.
We had planned to have the ceremony on the front lawn with the Manor as the back drop. We had to change it last minute due to over 1/2 the box woods being DEAD. They made excuses and even the recommendation they could be spray painted green like a Hallmark movie on our dime.
We moved it to the lawn behind the barn and it's a pretty area, except for the fact it had rained the day before and it was a mud pit. You couldn't see it until you started walking on it and sinking in it. The brides dress was completely muddy by the end of the ceremony. The bridal party was literally having to clean mud out of their shoes and feet. The vendors advised this is very common due to the space was a pond prior to them filling it in.
The bridal house when they have 1 full lenth mirror and 7 small ikea mirrors. One bathroom for a brial party of 9 + MOB, MOG, and make up and hair people... it felt very crowded and not lady friendly. Also, it is on the opposite side of the barn and it could not be locked, so it is at your own risk for the belongings of the bridal party. The coffee shop was packed with people and the public has access without security. I advised that know one leave any valuables. The grooms area was very tiny with tired furniture and lacking tiny patio.
My expectations for spending $6000.00 alone for the venue... I will say the two staff that worked our actual event were attentive and present from parking, to the fire places, to end cleaning. (not tear down) We made the best of the day & we made it beautiful. For a wedding venue... I cannot recommend at all.
This is a very cozy spot to have dinner and drinks. A tour of the antique house is available. Tables are set up in each themed room. More dining is available in upstairs rooms, and also a large balcony, where there is comfy patio furniture and a porch swing. We brought our drinks to the balcony and enjoyed the fresh air. We ate in the sunroom bar beside the house, which is mostly glass with nice views. It offers the full menu, as well. Weddings are held on the property and parking was very full from wedding guests. The parking area is not paved and this place is kind of hard to spot while driving. Overall, the food menu did not have alot of options to choose from and was slightly pricey. They do make specialty cocktails. I tried three different ones and enjoyed each one.
I have found my new favorite place! I have been driving to Franklin for a great cup of coffee and neat atmosphere to meet clients… well I have found a treasure! 1819 Coffee at Homestead Manor! Narrow Gate Coffee (fell in love yum) but the entire place/the manor, the coffee house… are breathtaking! You will love the entire outdoor setting with beautiful hydrangeas blooming… plus the staff is top notch and shhhh, it’s a secret John B from Outerbanks works there! 😉
I had been working in the area and noticed this restaurant/manor set back from the road. I looked it up online, and decided to give it a try. I wish I hadn't waited so long. The food is grown right on the property (farm to fork) or obtained locally. I started with the deviled egg appetizer. Each one was crafted slowly by hand and was a work of art with the toppings carefully arranged. My entree was the filet. It was a perfect medium rare and served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and surrounded by an assortment of vegetables. The steak was so tender I didn't need a knife. The veggies had the perfect crunch. Dessert was a vanilla layer cake with chocolate and a bourbon caramel sauce. The bourbon was very aromatic and the cake was perfect.
While waiting for my food to come out my server explained the history of the manor. It was built in 1809 and a civil war battle took place there. It was used as a hospital for Union and Confederate soldiers. You can still see blood stains in the 3rd floor surgical area.
All in all it was a perfect dining experience. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.
